A Coastal Place

A gallop on The Great Ocean Road is always a pleasure. If the sun is out and the wind ablowing, it feels invigorating. Try it for yourself!

Wallpaper design, mistakes and all, hand drawn. Design competition. Student days..

This is a job I completed in Apollo Bay in 2011. Hawker is an Asian take out food bar. Originally a butcher shop, we kept all the wall and floor tiles, and metal meat hanging rails. We gutted the space, then added vintage light fittings, a custom made bar, a bench and a new cooking zone. Logo by Seb Brown, a yellow curtain. Blackboards constructed from old doors. Good luck plant, some timber stools and a small prep table completed the space.

M's place before. After shots to follow. Existing window frames, roof, verandah and external cladding are new. Total refit internally.

I take great pleasure in re-arranging things! It is always a work in progress at our place. Objects come in, are placed somewhere, moved, replaced and are often given away. Yay.

Some recycling action. I constructed these pencil holders from paper shopping totes and magazines. They have lasted quite a while. I had a pile of bags that I really loved and didin't want to throw away so with a few simple tools I created these pots. I guess they could be used for plants or brushes or cosmetics?!

The light has been amazing lately. Went to the footy last weekend, a VFL game, and had a wander around. Hues outstanding, red, yellow and blue especially. Some great scenes behind the play

There's been quite a bit going on at our place in the last few weeks. New kitchen, walls plastered, lighting updated. I have chosen colours and shapes that complement the space and am really looking forward to the finished product. Think I will call it the 'Small Space Project'

Latest visual merchansdising gig in a large charity store. Heaps of merchandise with which to play. Took the wigs off the models to keep things somewhat modern. Plenty of compliments so far! Love the Kombi van in the background too.
