A Coastal Place

Scenes from the road. A little bit of country Australiana. The colours and textures say AUSTRALIA to me, strong saturated colour and dominant textures. These scenes are pretty easy to find along any highway, not even far from the city. The materials used in these farms are honest and hardworking, the gate is pretty but practical. The shed has a beauty of its own, the iron does a damn good job sheltering and protecting. The green of the vegetation is a great contrast to the working materials of the built environment.

More floral at the local. Another grevillea in full flight. Strong, bold, saturated colour. I can imagine insects attracted to this beautiful bloom, seeing it at close range with its whorls, spikes, deep orange centre. Yum!

Floral at the local. Slowpoke is the local and grevillea is the flower of choice this week. An Australian native of arresting beauty, especially if you see it against this wood grain. By the way, Slowpoke's coffee is smooth, nutty, delicious.

Pop. Having fun with polish. Bought the blue polish in Italy, a thick Rimmel liquid with a really stubby brush. Its really easy to apply and dries fast. The red, which often gets commented on, is an American Apparel product, unfortunately, now gone to god after plenty of outings. A gift from number 1 son.
