Italy

The Italian job! I have been in Italy for a month with my 3 sisters and elderly mother. It was not without its problems, mostly of the first world. We had a few squabbles about driving and navigating on the wrong side of the road, Tony Abbott and playing cards.

Complementary colour

Upgraded the phone a couple of weeks ago, and this is the result. Amazing shots. Found some local berries on a beach walk the other day, squashed them in my hand and came up with a complementary colour scheme! Nature at its best.

Pinkz

On the street and in the house!

Photograhy skillz

Wandering about town over the weekend. two completely different sports. Budding photographers on the bridge, oarsome rowers below

K-Nitting

Having a play around with wool I've been collecting from various sources. This sac made itself really. Knitted a rectangle with different colours, folded the top, sewed up the sides, twisted a rope, made a pompom and attached a wooden bead. Voila.

Bathroom and bangle

Extremely happy with the now finished room. From an old, small badly designed space, with a bath, we now have a multipurpose, usable, spacious bathroom. Stone floor tiles with grey grout, large wall tiles and black grout. We really wanted a large basin to double as a laundry trough. Also, the plumbing had to pretty much stay where it was.  It had to be budget friendly and one way to reduce the cost was not to have a glass screen. For me, a shower curtain is more friendly! I made a long curtain from an Ikea (Pia Wallen design) curtain...looks good.

Making

Having some making time and playing around with a new design for Adelaide and Amanda. What do you think?

Stringing

I bought these beads in Paris a few years ago. I found them in a treasure of a shop in the Marais, jammed with beads and all sorts of fixings for making things. They have been at the bottom of the sewing box so thought I had better do something with them.

Global marketplace

Living in a small space means you have to really think about all you bring in to it. Lately I have been dabbling in the global buying and selling market...Ebay. Was surprised to find Gumtree is also owned by Ebay! Less costs but less exposure for the latter. A lovely young woman bought a vintage hair brush and mirror set that I delivered her in person. I hope she enjoys it, turned out she worked in a hair salon.

Bed detail

Recently the apartment was painted. I am totally in love with the pink of the bedroom, a chameleon colour, changing all day depending on the light. Grabbed a cushion from the local oppy and sewed a velvet bolster.
